I Accept, But Do Not Read

Basil.js is a simplified library aimed at designers, based on JavaScript and extends the existing API of InDesign. It brings scripting and automation into layout and makes computational and generative design possible from within InDesign. Additionally, it also includes workflow improvements for data imports from various sources, indexing and complex document management. Founders of the basil.js team are: Ted Davis, Benedikt Groß, and Ludwig Zeller.

Conclusion/reflection

The beauty of Basil.js is its ability to use data and generate script based (JavaScript) design within InDesign. JavaScript is a versatile language and by learning it, the possibilities are endless. I mainly used data that were relevant to me, but it is also possible to use data that has more relevance in other settings.
There is a downsize of Basil.js, and that is the lack of information and courses. When searching on the internet it is difficult to find some help when having problems.
